A restaurant in Tobago.
Mount St. Benedict Monastery. The monastery sits
majestically on the hills of the Northern Range above
the town of Tunapuna and is one of Trinidad and Tobago's
most outstanding landmarks. This Benedictine Monastic
community is the largest and oldest in the Caribbean. It was
established in 1912 by monks fleeing Brazil's attempt to
take over their land.
Founded on the principles of self sufficiency and
hospitality to strangers, the monastery complex
encompasses, not only religious buildings, but also a farm,
an apiary, a home for the aged, a drug rehabilitation centre,
a vocational school and a guest house. The monastery is
famous for its yogurt and produces jams and jellies from fruits
grown on the sprawling mountain top compound which
encompasses some 600 acres, much of it rain forest.

Steep climb to Yurette / Home of the hummingbirds.
The next 20 pictures are at Yurette. This is a private home
with an unbelievablly large number of hummingbirds in the Maracas Valley
in Trinidad. The birds are very small.
Theo giving his fascinating and detailed humming bird
presentation. Theo is a professional photographer. His
photography is displayed in his Art Gallery and gift shop.
